We are pleased to welcome Black Actors to the Elm & Oak Records family as well as announce the release of their Magnum EP. Magnum will drop right here on June 5th! In celebration we are giving you the first single entitled “Hold Up (I Got It)” for FREE! Black Actors is a progressive hip-hop duo composed of Chris Mose (Quiz) and Tk Kayembe (.anansi). The Denver based groups music can be described as intelligent hip-hop mixed with trap bangers, wonkey off-kilter beats and deep-rooted lyrics. Imagine MF Doom linking up with a hologram of j.dilla. It’s kind of like that. They’re all about keeping things unified and cohesive which is evident in their name, a nod to the immortal Dave Chappelle quote “black actors just got to stick together.

This week we’ve got an exciting new Jeffree’s release from Colorado’s own Paper Diamond! Featuring 3 huge bass heavy tunes that tastefully take dubstep into the pop realm. Both Turn The Lights Off and Can We Go Up feature female pop hooks over high flying synths and heavy bass while Airlift holds its own as a dub/trap inspired instrumental.
Since Paper Diamonds inception in January of 2011, he has found himself on a globetrotting, music making escapade, with non-stop shows, festival plays, and around the clock studio sessions.
